About HOLLAND & MINT

Hi! I'm Alida, the creative director and founder of Holland and Mint. I am a mother to two beautiful boys and share my life with my amazing and supportive husband. The inspiration for my blog and reading material was created a couple of years ago after a trip to Europe with my husband.

It was during this trip of a lifetime that I had seen so much beauty and amazing experiences that I had to share it. Along with describing my travels, I wanted to delve into other areas of my life that I frequently got questions about from friends, family, and others. Such as fashion- I got best dressed in high school yearbook, an award that may seem silly but that I hold onto fondly. My pregnancy- I found out I was pregnant with my first baby boy after our European adventure. As well as other things such as the design process of our home from top to bottom and decorating for the holidays. I majored in Communications and Advertising at Pepperdine, where I quickly discovered my love for creating websites. For a class, I “invented” a website called “Shoppin’ is my Cardio,” where I created an online collection of all my favorite clothing boutiques to shop at for other girls to find them easier and see what brands they carried, It was almost like “blogging” before blogging was a thing!

It brings me unexplainable joy to be able to share my life, current obsessions, fashion I adore, and tips I’ve learned or am learning concerning; health, diet, or motherhood- I was diagnosed with type 1 Diabetes when I was 8 years old and consider taking care of my health a top priority.
